The fifth site is minimal impact. It allows natural regeneration to occur. Riprap or foreign material which suppresses plant growth or meander development is removed. Some natural vegetation (willow sprigs, alders, cottonwoods, sedges, grasses) are planted as deemed helpful by the project manager through on-site visits. The site is monitored and minimum impact prescriptions are adjusted as needed. The objective is to be flexible in responding to the restoring ecosystem, but to let natural regeneration occur at its own pace.
